Our Merger With Pritchard Edwards

In October 2014, Pritchard Edwards merged with JCP Solicitors. At the time of the merger, we were proud to share the same ethos for client service and continue to meet the needs of the existing clients of Pritchard Edwards under the umbrella of JCP Solicitors.

Pritchard Edwards was originally formed by Eryl Pritchard and Melanie Edwards in February 1991. Prior to this both Eryl and Melanie were partners in another local firm.  Both Melanie and Eryl continued to work at JCP Solicitors on a consultancy basis until they retired in 2016.

The business began life at the historic Georgian office in Quay Street, Carmarthen. The office at Tŷ Gelli Aur, or Golden Grove House, dated back to the 18th Century and was steeped in local history.

A Grade II listed building, Tŷ Gelli Aur is believed to have first started life as a Customs House and a private dwelling house, before becoming an Officers’ Club at the end of the Great War. During the 20th Century it became the British Legion Headquarters for Carmarthen. In 1987, the property was substantially renovated and converted into offices, winning an award from the Carmarthen Civic Society.

In October 2024 the Carmarthen team relocation to a modern office premises with free parking, improved accessibility and an onsite café. You can now find us at: Parc Pensarn, Carmarthen, SA31 2NF.
