Fireworks for bonfire night and Diwali are best enjoyed at professionally organised events, as these follow strict safety regulations. If you are setting them off at home, keep a safe distance, follow the instructions, and ensure children are supervised at all times.

Always use fire-resistant costumes for Halloween, and check for reflective elements when heading out after dark. When taking children trick-or-treating or to attend festive gatherings, make sure walkways are well-lit and costumes do not obstruct their vision. Always drive cautiously in residential areas during these evenings as foot traffic increases, especially with excited children crossing streets in search of treats for Halloween.

During Diwali, ensure that candles are placed securely and away from flammable materials: do not light candles on the windowsill beside curtains. If you plan to use sparklers, supervise children closely and have a water bucket handy.
