Hi, I am Beverley. I am part of the Lifetime Planning team, specialising in advising on succession planning for our clients and probate matters. I deal with complex tax advice, as well as specialising in advising on trusts. This includes both advising on creating new trusts, advising on existing trusts and the inheritance tax consequences of the trusts. I give advice to parents with disabled children in respect of trusts that can be utilised to benefit and protect the disabled child – I am on the Mencap list of STEP qualified legal professionals.
I also have a particular specialism in succession planning for our agricultural clients and advising on Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Relief (BR) which can often reduce an otherwise hefty Inheritance Tax bill. I have a strong knowledge in this niche sector and can often be found on the JCP stand in various agricultural shows.
I have extensive experience in preparing various types of Wills and Trusts and with conducting the administration of estates and trusts, as well as dealing with the drafting of personal injury trusts and the ongoing administration of these trusts. As part of succession planning for my clients I also have vast experience of preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney for both personal use and business use.
I have been admitted as a full member of STEP (Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners). STEP is a leading worldwide professional body for practitioners in the fields of trusts, estates and related issues. STEP members provide expert advice on how to comply with the often complex law and tax rules surrounding trusts, estates and inheritance and are the most experienced in those fields. I have passed all 4 modules of STEP – the Administration of Estates, Administration of Trusts, Estate and Trust taxation and Trust and Estate Accounting with a Distinction.
I joined JCP in 2006 as a Trainee Solicitor. I previously studied law at Cardiff University and completed my LPC at Cardiff Law School in 2005 for which I received the accolade the Highest Achiever of the Year. I was awarded the STEP Excellence Award for the highest mark in the Administration of Estates November 2010 examination paper for England and Wales. I have worked in the area of Wills and Probate since qualification in 2008.
I was joint President of Soroptimist International Swansea during 2014-2015. A Dementia Friend, I am also an active member of Swansea’s Dementia Supportive Community which aims to improve the life of those living with dementia and their carers in Swansea.
