Hi, I’m Hannah, a Welsh-speaking Trainee Solicitor at JCP Solicitors. I joined the firm in 2024 as a Trainee Solicitor in the Medical Negligence team, where I work closely with Matthew Owen, the Head of the team.
I graduated in 2021 with a First-Class Honours degree in Law from Cardiff University before continuing my studies in Cardiff, completing the Legal Practice Course (LPC) alongside a Master of Laws (LLM), earning Distinctions in both. During university, I also trained as an Appropriate Adult to assist vulnerable detainees in police custody, ensuring their welfare was safeguarded.
Before starting my training contract, I worked as a Paralegal at a leading Cardiff firm, gaining valuable experience in the healthcare sector. This role taught me how to navigate a fast-paced environment while maintaining a compassionate and empathetic approach - especially important when supporting vulnerable clients.
At JCP, I was drawn to the firm’s core values, stellar reputation, and commitment to high-quality work. The firm’s dedication to community support, including partnerships with local charities, makes meaningful contributions to our local communities. As a fluent Welsh speaker, I also value JCP’s Welsh language pledge and feel passionate about offering legal services in both English and Welsh.
Outside of work, I love travelling and experiencing different cultures, as well as spending quality time with friends and family. I’m an active person and enjoy exploring the beautiful Gower Peninsula.
