Hi, I am Mike. I am a Director at JCP Solicitors and Head of Lifetime Planning in South East Wales overseeing the Wills and Probate team in our Caerphilly, Cardiff and Cowbridge offices. I deal with legal matters comprising Wills and Probate, Court of Protection and creating Lasting Powers of Attorney. I am also a Professional Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection and also act as Attorney under Lasting Powers of Attorney for Clients.
I qualified as a Solicitor in 1989 and have worked in the area of Lifetime Planning since 1990, where I have been practising in Caerphilly ever since. I joined Glamorgan Law in 2014 when it merged with my previous firm, Charles, Crookes & Jones and then became a Director at JCP Solicitors following the Glamorgan Law merger in April 2017.
In 2019, I undertook training to become a Dementia Champion in my aim to make Caerphilly a Dementia Friendly town. A Dementia Champion is someone with excellent knowledge and skills in the care of people with dementia. They are an advocate for people with Dementia and a source of information and support for co-workers.
In my spare time, I am a keen Bridge player, having represented Wales in my younger days. I am currently Vice Chairman of Penarth Bridge Club.
I go line dancing weekly and I am always (unless extremely busy) happy to join the firm’s Quiz Team – which often takes home the winning gong! I love a holiday – especially a cruise which my wife and I will take as often as time and money permit.
