Charity of the Year
JCP Solicitors is delighted to announce Guide Dogs Cymru as their Charity of the Year for 2024 – 2025. The team are eager to help change the lives of people living with vision impairment, enabling them to live actively, independently, and well.
Guide Dogs Cymru is one of the leading assistance dog charities in Wales, almost fully funded by donations. Their expert staff, dedicated volunteers and trained dogs provide life-changing mobility services to adults, children and young people with sight loss throughout Wales.
Guide Dogs Cymru does not only provide guide dogs; they also offer a range of support services including orientation and mobility training, rehabilitation, and ongoing support to guide dog owners. These services are vital for ensuring that individuals with visual impairments can effectively utilise guide dogs and live independently.
Director and CEO, Hayley Davies, said “I’m pleased that JCP Solicitors can play a role in enhancing the quality of life for those with visual impairments. Our partnership with Guide Dogs Cymru, from April 2024 until March 2025 will be, I’m sure, a learning experience for us all. It is rewarding to know that our teams will be raising awareness about the challenges faced by those who are visually impaired.”
The business has supported numerous charities over the years, nominated by colleagues within the organisation. Its charity of the year 23/24, Keep Tidy Wales, was chosen to assist JCP Solicitors with their Environmental Strategy. Over the past year, JCP Solicitors worked closely with Keep Tidy Wales, taking part in numerous local litter picks and signing up for their litter-free zones pledge. Each office has also been equipped with litter pickers and the business is currently developing its climate change pledge.
By supporting Guide Dogs Cymru, the team at JCP hopes to raise the £10,000 required to name and sponsor a puppy's training which could be life-changing for someone who is visually impaired.
