As the appointed NFU Panel firm for South Wales since 2008, JCP Solicitors has a proud history of supporting the agricultural sector by providing expert legal advice on all areas of rural law.
Through our panel membership with the NFU, we are delighted to offer discounts and special offers for NFU Farmer and Grower Members - demonstrating our commitment to supporting the farming sector in Wales.
NFU Farmer and Grower Members are entitled to a 12.5% discount across the board at JCP, for services directly relating to their farming or growing business. What is more, NFU Legal Assistance Scheme (LAS) subscribers can apply for financial assistance of up to a maximum of £1,000 (£250 per document) towards the cost of having four contracts checked or drafted. This contribution includes work relating to contracts in your farming business, such as those with suppliers, partnership agreements, leases, and even employment contracts. Furthermore, LAS subscribers can also apply for a Legal Health Check contribution of up to £1000 (£250 per document) to deal with drafting documents related to Lifetime Planning.
A husband and wife could therefore receive a contribution of up to £1,000 towards mirror Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney as well as the additional 12.5% discount.
Sean Boucher, Director in the Rural team, said: “In farming families, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney are vitally important. Succession planning plays a significant part of farm management, as smallholdings and large farms are often passed down through generations, meaning Wills need to be drafted by a professional and based on expert legal advice.
“Lasting Powers of Attorney should be considered as important as Wills, if not more: these documents grant a nominated person the power to make decisions on your behalf should you become incapacitated. If those decisions relate to your farming or growing business, your Attorney needs to be someone you trust to act in your and your business’s best interest. JCP Solicitors can support you through this process.”
