JCP Solicitors’ Sports Law team continues its successful relationship with one of Europe’s leading sportswear manufacturers, Macron S.p.A, by acting for them on a four-year deal with Millwall Football Club. The deal will see the Italian sportswear firm become the club’s Technical Sponsor.
Under the new arrangement, the Italian sportswear giant will manufacture Millwall FC’s home, away and third kits until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Macron has an established reputation as one of the leading sportswear brands in the market, with long-standing relationships with clubs and organisations across a range sports. Earlier this year it signed a Technical Kit Supply Agreement with Nottingham Forrest FC, which was the largest commercial agreement in the Championship club’s history, with JCP Solicitors acting for Macron.
Andrew Meech, a Director in the Sports Law team at JCP Solicitors, said: “This is another important deal for Macron not least because it represents the return of Millwall FC to its portfolio of sporting teams and once again it was a pleasure to assist Macron in this process.
“Sports Law is a valuable and growing area of business for JCP Solicitors, involving a high level of knowledge from our team in this fast-evolving area of the law. We are proud of the strong relationship we have with Macron, which has given us an excellent understanding of its business, ethos and objectives, which in turn enables us to work with them seamlessly to support them in delivering another significant agreement.”
JCP Solicitors acts for a number of sports clubs, individuals and related companies from both professional and amateur organisations. The law firm has previously acted for Macron on a number of matters, including its record sponsorship deal with Scottish Rugby Union and on a retail services agreement with Scarlets Rugby.
The Sports Law team at JCP Solicitors has been ranked at the top by leading industry bibles, the Legal 500 and Chambers.
Macron already supplies apparel to more than 50 professional clubs and has a presence in 57 countries across the globe. Those professional clubs include SS Lazio, Bologna FC, Cagliari, Italian Rugby Federation, Scottish Rugby, Edinburgh Rugby, Glasgow Warriors, Scarlets Rugby, Northampton Saints, Vitesse, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Nice, Deportivo La Coruna, Adelaide FC and Perth Glory FC.
