A Healthy Year of Transactions for the Healthcare Team

JCP’s dedicated healthcare team has always been a great asset to JCP and it enjoyed a particularly successful year in 2017 – acting on in excess of £20 million worth of dentist sales and purchases.

Headed up by Chris Davies, working alongside Betsan Powell and Jennifer Rosser, the team has established an enviable reputation nationally, thanks to its work throughout England and Wales on dental sales, share or asset transactions, NHS contract transfers, and purchases with incorporation, as well as transactions for General Practitioners, opticians, veterinary practices and pharmacies (and more recently an audiologist).

Some key transaction for the team in 2017 include the sale of a long-established, Kent-based, husband and wife dental practice for a seven-figure sum, and the acquisition of a dental practice in Haverfordwest for a well-respected practitioner with plans to modernise the business.

The team also frequently advises clients on associate agreements and expense share agreements, and passes their clients to the HR and Employment team for specialist employment advice, and HR Services retainers.

Chris is a one of a small handful of Solicitor members of NASDAL (the National Association of Dental Accountants & Lawyers). As well as non specialist Solicitors who refer to Chris, a lot of the team’s work comes from referrals from the NASDAL network, via past clients, from UK wide specialist dental accountants and agents, Independent Financial Advisers and from local healthcare bank managers.

Chris is singled out for healthcare-related property matters in the Legal 500 2016 edition, he can often be found in various Dental conferences in London, Birmingham and Manchester and often delivers seminars at these events on key industry topics.
