We are pleased to announce that Sophie Thomas, JCP’s Head of Commercial Litigation, has been made an Associate Member of Nara, the Association of Property & Fixed Charge Receivers, in recognition of her expertise in the important area of receivership.
This is a growing area of business for JCP Solicitors, with Sophie and her team dealing with scores of such cases in recent years. We believe JCP to be the only Welsh law firm that has a Nara member on its team. Nara is an industry body overseeing professional standards within receivership, with a formal and detailed Code of Practice which its members agree to adhere to.
Sophie leads a skilled team which provides legal services to banks and other lenders, as well as private individuals and small businesses, recovering secured and unsecured business lending.
JCP's CEO, Hayley Davies said: “This new Associate Membership for Sophie is a mark of the quality of her expertise. In fact, the latest edition of the law industry bible, the Legal 500, describes her as ‘very practical’. It says her ‘no-nonsense approach which ‘gets to the heart of any issue’, is a real asset to a ‘very experienced and knowledgeable team.’
Hayley adds: “Receivership is a complex area of law, requiring legal professionals to have a clear-eyed view of the facts, impeccable negotiating skills and the utmost efficiency. This Nara membership gives our clients further affirmation that JCP Solicitors offers quality legal care within a wide range of key specialisms.”
