JCP Solicitors CEO supports adaptive ski trip

JCP Solicitors’ CEO Hayley Davies and her family generously volunteered to drive adaptive ski equipment to France, as part of the Ski4All Wales annual SkiBears trip. Giving children and young adults with physical, neurological, or visual deficits the opportunity to partake in an Alpine ski adventure, the trip welcomes ski club members from South Wales to take part in an adaptive sporting holiday.
In previous years, Ski4All Wales has flown the SkiBears adaptive equipment out to resorts. As the trip has grown more popular, it has become increasingly difficult to manage the logistics of taking huge, heavy equipment through two airports. To help run the 2024 trip more smoothly, the charity put out an appeal for a van driver and Hayley’s husband, who has benefited from the services of Ski4All Wales after a traumatic brain injury himself, was quick to volunteer.
Hayley said: “Navigating a group trip through two airports is a logistical nightmare, and so my family and I were pleased to take the stress away and drive the equipment to the resort instead. We responded to the charity’s search as soon as my husband saw the post on social media, and we are thrilled to have played a part in the SkiBears trip this year. The inclusive environment offers physical, psychological, and social benefits to all skiers and their families. It was heartening to witness the team’s commitment to delivering an inclusive experience for all and to see the faces of those who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy the mountains and the snow.”
Ski4All Wales is a charity dedicated to providing equipment, specialist adaptive instruction and access to facilities, to make skiing more open and accessible for all. The charity, based in Pembrey in Carmarthenshire, aims to strengthen self-confidence and a sense of achievement by making skiing accessible to all.
Bethan Drinkall, Managing Director of Equinox Physiotherapy and chair of Ski4All Wales, praised Hayley’s kind contribution, stating: “We are so grateful to Hayley and her family and JCP Solicitors for their involvement with this year’s trip, it showcases their dedication to the local community and willingness to create opportunities for everyone. Ski4All Wales is all about supporting children and adults with a wide variety of disabilities and complexities to enjoy the incredible mountain environment. We always see a growth in their confidence as the week goes on, especially as new friendships are forged through shared experiences. I imagine we will continue with this method of transporting equipment in the future, which is brilliant news for the future of the SkiBears trip. We really couldn’t make these trips happen without our generous volunteers.”
At JCP Solicitors, we are proud to have our CEO lead the way in such an impactful community initiative and continue our support of Ski4All Wales.
