Business people from across Pembrokeshire welcomed the former international footballer, political and current affairs commentator and academic, Laura McAllister CBE, as guest speaker at the recent Pembrokeshire Four Seasons Business Lunch, in Haverfordwest.
An expert on Welsh politics, public policy and leadership, as well as a former board member of UK Sport, Laura spoke to the assembled crowd of business people at Slebech Park Estate, about the growing role of women in the public realm, the leadership lessons she gleaned from her time as team captain with the Wales football team, and the importance of being open to new opportunities within public life and within business.
The regular networking event brings together business people from across Pembrokeshire for an informal networking session, sponsored by JCP Solicitors, Thomas Carroll, Ashmole and Co and the Development Bank of Wales.
Ian Badham, Partner at Ashmole & Co Chartered Accountants said: “Laura McAllister is one of the most impressive and dynamic figures within Welsh sport and academia, who has held key posts within UK Sport, The Football Association of Wales, the Institute of Welsh Affairs and other influential bodies. Her focus upon ‘getting things done’ is a hallmark of her way of working and I know the audience gained useful insights that are applicable across all areas of business.”
The next Pembrokeshire Four Seasons lunch goes ahead on December 6. For more details, please email christina.coates@jcpsolicitors.co.uk.
