New Business Owner Boosts JCP's Catastrophic Injury Team

- AuthorMei Li
An expert in catastrophic injury has become a business owner at one of South Wales’ best-known law firms, JCP Solicitors.
Mei Li specialises in acting for children and adults who have suffered a traumatic brain injury. Recognised as one of the Next Generation Partners in the region by the Legal 500, Mei secures multi-million-pound settlements for brain injury clients who have suffered catastrophic accidents, including birth injury and cerebral palsy.
Keith Thomas, JCP Director and Head of Injury Services, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mei on board as a business owner having already been a Director at JCP since 2018. Mei brings much experience in this very complex and emotive area of law, where we are dealing with families who need great amounts of support and guidance, as well as a legal professional who is assiduous and focused on getting the best possible outcome. JCP has an enviable Injury Services team and behind each of our team members are many families being supported through very difficult times.”
A Senior Litigator and Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), a Member of the Headway Accreditation Panel and the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel, Mei has a host of accreditations that mark her excellence as a practitioner. Alongside these accreditations, Mei is also the secretary of the South West Wales Brain Injury Group, a group that aims to educate and increase knowledge about brain injury locally.
Mei works closely with specialist brain injury therapists including case managers, neuro physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other rehabilitation therapists, and is passionate about ensuring her clients have access to rehabilitation as soon as possible, in order to maximise their recovery. Mei works hard to develop strong relationships with her clients, since, particularly in the case of child injury, she can be a part of the client’s life for a number of years, supporting them through litigation and the rehabilitation journey.
Mei’s appointment comes shortly after JCP, which has offices throughout South and West Wales, appointed four new Directors to its leadership team to support the firm’s continued expansion, including that of Rebecca Bennett, who is also part of JCP’s nationally recognised Injury Services team.
