Welsh law firm, JCP Solicitors, has appointed four new Directors to its leadership team to support the firm’s continued expansion.
From 1st April 2022, Joanna Fenoulhet, Sean Boucher and Beverley Bowen will take on roles as Directors in Lifetime Planning, with its 30 team members spanning JCP’s network of South and West Wales offices. At the same time, Rebecca Bennett will be appointed Director in JCP’s Medical Negligence team, which has become one of the most recognised and respected teams in its field in Wales, with cases throughout the country.
Joanna, who is a Wills and Probate specialist, will help to lead the team in the Cowbridge and Cardiff offices. With 30 years’ legal experience, Joanna has completed the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) course and has a portfolio of landowner clients in the South East region. Sean Boucher will service JCP’s West Wales client base from its Carmarthen office. With a strong knowledge of the rural economy, Sean specialises in advising farming families on business and personal lifetime planning needs. Beverley Bowen, who is based in JCP’s Swansea office, has extensive experience in conducting the administration of estates and trusts and is a qualified member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP). STEP members provide expert advice on how to comply with the often complex law and tax rules surrounding trusts, estates and inheritance and are the most experienced in those fields.
Rebecca Bennett is a key member of JCP’s nationally recognised Medical Negligence team which deals with cases throughout Wales. Identified as a “key lawyer” in 2020’s The Legal 500, Rebecca deals with all aspects of medical negligence, specialising in claims for survivors of brain and birth injuries for whom she has worked to secure a number of multi-million pound settlements. Rebecca is Secretary for Headway Neath Port Talbot, a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and a Committee Member for South Wales Acquired Brain Injury Forum (SWABIF).
The announcement comes after an impressive 12 months for JCP Solicitors, which has seen continued investment in people, processes and technology matched by growth in all areas of work.
Commenting on the appointments, Hayley Davies, Director and CEO at JCP Solicitors, said: “As a firm, JCP is an exciting place to be. We firmly believe in growing from within and creating clear leadership paths and career opportunities. So, we are thrilled to see these four highly talented, home-grown individuals move on to the next stages of their careers with us.
“During their time with the firm, each of our newly appointed Directors has committed themselves to their roles, using their talents to further the business goals of their respective teams. Their appointments to our leadership team confirm our commitment to investing in the depth and breadth of our business to ensure we have the highest levels of support for all our people and clients.”
