Legal Firm Goes to Bat for South Wales Junior Cricket League

What have Hugh Jackman, Daniel Radcliffe, Mick Jagger, Lily Allen, Peter Davison’s Doctor Who and JCP Solicitors all got in common?
The answer has little to do with the Oscars, and even less to do with a rock and roll lifestyle.
It is, in fact, a love of cricket.
The traditional charms of cricket attract spectators and players from all walks of life and here in South Wales the sport is thriving - despite stiff competition from the country’s national obsession with rugby.
JCP Solicitors are lending their support by sponsoring the South Wales Junior Cricket League and they are encouraging youngsters to sign up and join their local team.
A Director and Head of Lifetime Planning Disputes at the firm, Richard Howells, said: “We are very pleased to back the South Wales Junior Cricket League. Cricket is an important part of my life and I hope we can help more youngsters enjoy the benefits of this very enjoyable game.
“As a cricket fan myself, I know the game helps to instill the kind of values and traits that help young people throughout their lives – like discipline, team spirit, a sense of fair play, and physical and mental agility. I would encourage youngsters of any age to get involved in cricket and to seek out their local teams.”
South Wales Junior Cricket League’s Chairman, Ian Murphy, said: “Grassroots sport is so important to communities like ours, and sponsorship like this helps us continue to bring the benefits of cricket to many hundreds of youngsters.
“Our league, which is affiliated to Cricket Wales, is thought to be the largest of its kind in Britain and it has been producing test and county cricketers since 1973 - and long may it continue to do so.
“Many of the current Glamorgan County Cricket Club developed their cricketing skills in our league and it is pleasing to be able to pass our love of this great game on to future generations.”
